Biodiversity and Ecological Security (BioOne) will carry out research on data integration and data sharing standards, and establish a comprehensive big data platform with biodiversity and ecological security information as its core. It aims to achieve different forms of tailored data services and decision support at different levels.
In five years, BioONE plans to build 98 authoritative databases and 121 data products with independent property rights and about 300-400 million integrated data records with a total capacity of up to 10PB; Five consultation reports on biodiversity and ecological security will be released to serve the national high-level strategic decision, such as to be adopted by the central office or the state office and as well as seniordepartments; Three major national decisions and activities and 15 major provincial and ministerial decisions and activities will also be supported by BioONE.
Besides, it will explore the laws of geological history and modern high-resolution biodiversity distribution and environmental evolution and the impact of major events in the geological history on the biological community by the support of big data technology, 4-5 articles of Science, Nature, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences(PNAS) .
