Big Data and Cloud Service Platform Project Team Attend GEO Week 2019

From November 4th to 9th, the GEO (Group on Earth Observations) Week 2019 was held in Canberra, Australia, attended by nearly 1500 representatives and 30 ministerial-level delegates from the United States, China, the European Union, South Africa, the GEO Secretariat and other member countries. Prof. LI Guoqing head of the research team “Multi-source Earth Observations Data Integration and Sharing” from the Big Data and Cloud Service Platform Project, together with Dr. ZHANG Lianchong attended the events.

With the theme of  “Earth observations: Investments in the digital economy,” this GEO week features a full-range of events held at the National Convention Centre Canberra, including GEO-XVI Plenary, Side Events, a world-class Exhibition featuring live demonstrations and innovations, Ideas Stage pitches, a brand new initiative for commercial sector engagement at the Industry Track, and much more. Tailored sessions focused on how EO can aid decision makers to address key issues related to disaster risk reduction, climate action, food security, and other key topics impacting our daily lives.  

During the GEO Week, LI Guoqing and Dr. ZHANG Lianchong participated in various seminars and communication events, and exchanged intention of cooperation in data, methods and research cases with international counterparts.
