Head of CASEarth
GUO Huadong is a Professor of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Aerospace Information Research Institute, an Academician of CAS, a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a Foreign Member of the Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters, and a Fellow of TWAS. He presently serves as Honorary President of International Society for Digital Earth, Member of UN 10-Member Group to support the Technology Facilitation Mechanism for SDGs, Director of the International Center on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage under the Auspices of UNESCO, and Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Digital Earth and Big Earth Data. He specializes in remote sensing, radar for Earth observation and Digital Earth science.
Research Team
The research team of CASEarth consists of 129 research institutions and universities. CASEarth gathered over 120 scientistsin the fields of Earth observation, high performance computing, big data technology, , geography, geology, atmospheric sciences, oceanology, biology, ecology and environmental science etc., and among them, there are 9 Academicians of CAS.

BAI Chunli, President of CAS, serves as the head of the CASEarth leading group, and ZHANG Yaping, Vice President of CAS, serves as deputy head. The group members are officials from CAS Bureau of Science and Technology for Development, Bureau of Development and Planning, Bureau of Facility Support and Budget, and Bureau of Personnel.

It is composed of the head of CASEarth and principles of CASEarth core tasks. It is responsible for coordination, organization, and implementation of CASEarth.
